Where does camp take place?

Cedar Dell Forest Farm is located in unincorporated Multnomah County, Oregon, at the southern edge of the city of Gresham. The address is 8015 SW Rodlun Rd., Gresham, OR 97080 and exact driving directions are provided to all program participants. Outside of scheduled events, Cedar Dell Forest Farm is not open to the public. Click here to view a map with our location.

Cedar Dell is a 3.5 acre property adjacent to 75 acres of forested, public land. Camp activities are primarily outdoors, on our covered deck, with the farm animals, in the garden, and exploring the forest.

Summer camp programs officially start at 9:00 am but children can be dropped off any time between 8:30 and 9:00 am. Please let us know if you will be dropping off your child late as we may be out and about on the farm.

Pick up is at 3:00 pm. It is assumed that parent/guardian and emergency contacts named on the registration form are authorized to pick up your student(s). At drop-off, please provide the names of any other people who are allowed to pick them up.

Drop-off and Pick-up

What to Bring

Your camper should bring:

  • Backpack that your child is able to carry throughout the day

  • Food for the whole day-- including a full lunch and a hearty snack

  • Refillable water bottle, labeled with their name

  • Weather appropriate clothes, closed-toe shoes, hat, and a raincoat, if necessary.

  • Sunscreen and insect repellent, if desired

What to Wear

Students need to be dressed and prepared to be outside. We do have an indoor art studio but use of that space is limited because it it more fun to be outdoors! Please bring layers as mornings can be chilly in the shade of the forest. Students should dress for the weather in clothing and shoes that can get dirty. Shoes need to be sturdy, closed-toe shoes as students will be exploring off trail in the forest and visiting farm animals.

Food

Please pack filling, healthy lunch and snacks for your camper. We occasionally make snacks to share using wild edibles and food from our farm. Let us know if your child has allergies or food restrictions.

Behavior Policy

At Cedar Dell Forest Farm we cultivate a community of respect. We expect all of our visitors to be safe, respectful and kind to people, animals and plants. We can accommodate many behavior differences if we know how to best support your child. Please share strategies that work well for you during the online registration process. We are also happy to discuss your needs in more detail by contacting us.

Behavior that cannot be effectively managed during a program includes, but is not limited to, physical violence or threats, emotional abuse, purposefully leaving adult supervision, or mistreatment of animals. Students that engage in behaviors such as these may be sent home. Student safety and enjoyment are our top priorities.

Inclusivity

In all of our programs, we welcome, affirm, and support children and adults of all races, ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, religion, citizenship and immigration status, and any other category people use to define themselves. Cedar Dell strives to create a safe and inclusive environment that celebrates diversity.
